The Tenessee Titans have released defensive tackle Teair Tart ahead of their crucial Week 15 matchup vs. the Houston Texans.
ESPN is reporting that the AFC side has decided to waive the player because of a poor attitude and perceived lack of effort.
Tart, who was reportedly unhappy about his contract situation, is thought to have lacked intensity against the Miami Dolphins on Monday night and is now looking for a new home following the latest decision from the team.
Last month, head coach Mike Vrabel told ESPN he had encouraged the DT, who was on a second-round tender, to fight for a new deal.
“There’s no secret that Teair’s contract’s up after this year,” he said. “I told him that, ‘For you and your family, both things can happen. You can play well and you can help the team, and you can play well and help your family.'”
Taking to social media following the release, Tart claimed he was the one who asked to leave.

The 26-year-old registered 76 tackles, 2.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and an interception in four seasons with Tennessee and could be an option for a team looking to sign a defensive tackle late in the season.
