This is not what New Orleans Saints fans wanted to see in their first season without Drew Brees.
On Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported that Saints WR Michael Thomas is expected to miss the start of the 2021 season after undergoing surgery to repair the ligaments in his ankle.
According to Rapoport, Thomas could be sidelined for “weeks” based on the timing of the surgery and the recommended four months of recovery for this procedure.
The 28-year-old was plagued by injuries last season that limited him to just seven games played. He caught 40 passes for 438 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
