Tom Brady wasn’t the only one who was gearing up for a return to New England. Rob Gronkowski was also supposed to take on his former team for the first time since his departure from the Patriots on Sunday night. But it looks like that will no longer be the case.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Gronk did not make the trip to Foxborough and will not be suiting up for the Buccaneers when they take on the Pats in week 4:
This game will still receive plenty of hype as all eyes are on Brady and Bill Belichick as they square off against one another for the first (and possibly only) time ever.
It would have been nice to see Gronk back in New England as well, but if the rib injury is enough to keep him out of this game, you know it’s something serious.
Through three games this season, Rob Gronkowski has 16 receptions for 184 yards and four touchdowns. He was injured during the Bucs’ week 3 loss to the Rams, but was able to return to the game, albeit in a limited capacity.
