The tragic losses in the sports world continue as we have lost another man who was way too young to go.
This morning it was reported that Baltimore Ravens linebacker Jaylon Ferguson had passed away at just 26-years-old. No word yet on the cause, location or time of his death.
Ferguson’s agent Safarrah Lawson confirmed the news with NFL insider Ian Rapoport, adding that “the family asks for your prayers and privacy during this trying time.”
Ferguson was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens with the 85th overall pick in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He played in a total of 38 games between 2019 and 2021, making nine starts as a rookie. He had 67 tackles, 4.5 sacks and 2 fumble recoveries during his career.
Prior to playing in the NFL, Ferguson was a star at Louisiana Tech from 2015 to 2018, earning Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year honors during his final year in college. He finished his college career as the NCAA FBS all time leader in sacks, with 45—a record that still stands today.
