The NFL Gods giveth, and the NFL Gods taketh away.
That’s what appears to be happening to the Los Angeles Rams, as they received great news this week that they would be signing free agent Odell Beckham Jr. on Thursday. However, one day later, during Friday’s practice, Robert Woods went down with that is now being confirmed as a torn ACL.
According to reports, Woods went down with the injury during Friday’s practice, was able to get back up and complete the session, and even spoke with members of the media afterwards. But afterwards, tests revealed that he had, in fact, torn his ACL. He will be out for the remainder of the season, as a result.
Woods has been a big part of the Rams’ passing attack for the past few seasons. Through nine games in 2021, he had 45 receptions for 556 yards and four touchdowns. Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford will now rely on Cooper Kupp, Van Jefferson and OBJ to carry this dangerous passing attack.
