Back to the drawing board for the Oakland Raiders.
Over the weekend, it was announced that the Oakland Raiders would play the 2019 season at Oracle Park in San Francisco and the 2018 season was officially the final time the Raiders played in front of the home crowd in Oakland.
Things progressed fairly quickly, because now the Raiders won’t be playing at Oracle Park as the San Francisco 49ers are not expected to waive their territorial rights to the city, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The Raiders had been in negotiations with the Giants about playing there but they faced a daunting task as San Francisco’s mayor, London Breed, stated she didn’t want the team to further complicate ongoing traffic problems caused by the construction of the Golden State Warriors’ new arena.
The Raiders remaining options are either playing at Levi’s Stadium or returning back to Oakland to play one final season before heading to Las Vegas for good.
