A shocker in Seattle: Pete Carroll is reportedly out as head coach.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Carroll is no longer the head coach of the Seahawks. It was noted by both insiders that Carroll could stay with the organization, but his 14-year run as the head coach is finished.
This news comes as a massive surprise for several reasons. One, Carroll is widely regarded as one of the best head coaches in the game — having led Seattle to 11 winning seasons in his 14-year tenure.
Secondly, Carroll himself said after Sunday’s Week 18 game against the Arizona Cardinals that he expected to return as head coach in 2024.
