This is just unfortunate news for the Patriots, but more than that, a huge health risk for David Andrews.
On Monday, it was reported that the New England Patriots center had to be hospitalized due to blood clots in his lungs.
Via TheAthletic:
“Starting center David Andrews has been hospitalized with blood clots in his lungs, and his season is in jeopardy, according to sources. The expectation is that he’ll miss a significant amount of time.”
Andrews, who is signed through 2020, started 57 regular-season games and nine playoff games during his career. He has been the full-time starter for every postseason game during the Patriots’ three consecutive trips to the Super Bowl.
