Big trade!
According to Tom Pelissero, the Panthers have traded QB Teddy Bridgewater to the Broncos for a sixth-round pick.
Pelissero adds Carolina will pay some of Bridgewater’s salary to facilitate the deal. He had $10 million guaranteed on his deal in 2021.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter said that Carolina will pay $7 million of that figure and Denver will be responsible for $3 million.
It was just last offseason when the Panthers inked Bridgewater to a three-year, $63 million contract. Things did not go well in his first season and it was clear that the team was ready to move on from him.
