With Super Bowl LV less than three weeks away, the NFL unveiled the names of those who would be officiating the big game in Tampa Bay on Sunday, February 7th. And the list includes one very notable name.
For the first time ever, a female will be officiating in a Super Bowl, as Sarah Thomas made the list as the down judge.
Head referee Carl Cheffers was also the ref for the famous “28-3” Super Bowl between the Patriots and Falcons (Super Bowl LI). He was also an alternate referee for Super Bowl XLIX between the Patriots and Seahawks.
