A Minnesota Vikings coach was arrested on Friday night.
According to ESPN’s Kevin Seifert, the team’s offensive coordinator, Wes Phillips, was taken into police custody on a charge of misdemeanor DWI but has since been released.
The Vikings have released a statement in which they note that he immediately informed them of his arrest, while they have decided to allow him to travel to Las Vegas with the team for Sunday’s game against the Raiders after a discussion with the NFL.
Phillips is the son of former NFL coach Wade Phillips, who now coaches the XFL’s Houston Roughnecks. The senior Phillips coached the Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills, and Dallas Cowboys in the NFL.
