Chargers HC Brandon Staley announced that QB Justin Herbert suffered fractured rib cartilage in Thursday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Staley added that the quarterback could return to practice next week.
In the fourth quarter of the Los Angeles Chargers’ Thursday night game against the Kansas City Chiefs — Herbert delivered a strike in the midsection, leaving him on the ground in some pain. He had to leave the game for one play, but ultimately returned, but in severe and obvious pain.
So far in 2022, Herbert has completed 72 percent of his passes for 613 yards, six touchdowns, and one interception.
