In February 2018, Josh McDaniels had agreed to coach the Indianapolis Colts. That same day, McDaniels shocked the football world and reversed course by turning down the Colts job on the same day he agreed to return to New England as the OC. As part of his deal with McDaniels to turn down Indy, owner Robert Kraft reportedly guaranteed him that he would be the next head coach of the Patriots once Belichick was finished.
It has been reported with the last days that McDaniels was interested in being the newest head coach of the Cleveland Browns as well as others rumors of teams wanting his services, but none of that will be happening for the 2nd-straight year as McDaniels plans to stay put in New England.
Huge news for the Patriots offense going forward as Tom Brady gets older. McDaniels last head coaching job was eight years ago in 2010 with the Denver Broncos.
