The New York Giants finally got their quarterback of the future, but it came at quite the cost.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Giants and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have completed a blockbuster trade that looks like this:
To the Giants: Jameis Winston, Tampa’s 1st rounder in 2019 (5th overall), Tampa’s 1st rounder in 2020.
To the Buccaneers: Saquon Barkley, Eli Manning.

The move came as a shock to everyone, as many had anticipated seeing the Giants stick with Eli until they find his successor via the draft. And no one could have imagined that they’d move on from Barkley after taking him second overall just a year ago.
The Giants now have three first round picks in the upcoming NFL Draft (No. 5, 6 and 17). The rebuild is officially on.
