Just incredibly shocking news in the sports world.

Former ESPN NFL reporter John Clayton has tragically passed away.

John Clayton, a first-class NFL insider and our beloved longtime ESPN colleague, died today.

He also starred in the greatest This Is SportsCenter commercial of all time.

Clayton joined ESPN in 1995 as a reporter and hosted a weekly radio show during the NFL offseason. He hosted the show with former NFL quarterback Sean Salisbury, who called him “Crypt Guard.”
