Former Arizona Cardinals and Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury has completed another interview for an offensive coordinator position.
Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Philadelphia Eagles have interviewed Kingsbuy for their offensive coordinator vacancy. On Tuesday, the team fired OC Brian Johnson — days after firing defensive coordinator Sean Desai.
Kingsbury, who spent last season as an offensive analyst for the USC Trojans, also interviewed with the Chicago Bears for their OC opening under head coach Matt Eberflus. The Bears filled that vacancy on Wednesday by bringing over ex-Seattle Seahawks OC Shane Waldron.
The 44-year-old Kingsbury was the head coach of Texas Tech from 2013 to 2018, working with future Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes. Kingsbury then made the jump to the NFL in 2019, when he took over for Steve Wilks as the Cardinals’ new coach.
Though Kingsbury had some success with Kyler Murray, his tenure in Arizona was marred by second-half collapses and zero postseason wins. He was fired after the 2022 season, having compiled a 28-37-1 record.
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has quickly decided to overhaul his coaching staff following a miserable finish to a once-promising year. After starting out 10-1, Philly lost five of its final six games before getting crushed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round.
