For the New England Patriots franchise as well as Robert Kraft personally, this is devastating news. For people who don’t care for anything Patriots related and want to see the franchise fall, this is welcome news.
The Patriots owner is facing two misdemeanor charges of soliciting prostitution after he was allegedly videotaped paying for and receiving sexual acts on Jan. 19th and 20th.
Despite Kraft and his legal team arguing against the tapes being used as evidence and against them being released to the public, it looks like those tapes will indeed be released soon.
Via Boston Globe:
“Florida prosecutors said Wednesday they would release police surveillance videos of New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and 24 other men allegedly paying for sex.
Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg’s office said in court papers it is obligated under Florida law to provide the video to the public and the media now and cannot wait for a judge to decide whether it should be kept under seal while Lei Wang is prosecuted as the alleged manager of the Orchids of Asia Spa in Jupiter, Fla.”
Kraft has denied engaging in criminal activity and has requested that the footage and related evidence be sealed pending further order of the court. His attorneys have also previously argued that the hidden cameras violated constitutional privacy protections.
Kraft later released a statement of his own in March in which he apologized but did not admit guilt:

Also back in March, Kraft turned down a deal offered by prosecutors that would have resulted in the charges being dropped had Kraft admitted he would have been found guilty at trial.
The 77-year-old would have also had to complete an education course about prostitution, 100 hours of community service and undergo screening for sexually transmitted diseases.
