Tony Romo is about toget paid, whether it’s from his current employer and a new one.
On Sunday, it was announced reported by FrontOfficeSports that ESPN is getting an offer ready that would make Romo the highest-paid sportscaster in television history. It would be a multi-year deal that would pay him between $10-$14 million per year.
The 39-year-old Romo, who has been a hit since retiring, is set to become a free agent this season and earlier reports stated that talks between him and CBS Sports stalled in August.
CBS hired Romo directly out of the NFL in 2017 and fans loved him from the start. It was a sharp difference from his playing days where fans would sit around and laugh at his mistakes on the field, but he is no doubt a wonder to listen to behind the screen and in a booth.
ESPN desperately needs a big time hit for their Monday Night Football crew and Romo would provide that.
