Malcolm Jenkins has not missed a single snap in the past two season with the Philadelphia Eagles, but that will all come to an end in 2020.
On Tuesday, it was announced that the team would not be exercising their team option on veteran safety.
Jenkins told reporters a few months ago that he wouldn’t play in 2020 without a new contract from the team.
“I won’t be back on the same deal,” Jenkins said via Rob Maaddi. “That won’t happen. The market is good for safeties now. I consider myself in the top tier.”
In 16 games, the 32-year-old recorded 81 tackles, 2.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, one recovery and eight pass defenses.
