On Saturday, the Philadelphia Eagles official Twitter account announced that veteran RB Darren Sproles is retiring after the 2019 season.
Sproles has contemplated retirement for several years, but this announcement shouldn’t be shocking after he was placed on injured reserve in November.
The 36-year-old spent five years in San Diego before signing on with the Saints in 2011, where he would get traded to the Eagles for the 2014 season.
In 2019, Sproles appeared in six games and rushed for 66 yards on 17 carries to go along with six receptions for 24 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
