This is the last thing that Philadelphia Eagles fans want to hear right now.
With their team embarking upon what’s been a dream season thus far, the only thing that seems like it could stop them is an injury to one of there top players. And based on reports, that appears to be what’s unfolding at the moment.
According to reports, star quarterback and MVP front-runner Jalen Hurts suffered a sprained throwing shoulder during Sunday’s 25-20 victory over the Chicago Bears on Sunday. He suffered the injury in the third quarter and played through the pain, but sources are now saying that his status is in doubt for Saturday’s highly-anticipated NFC East tilt with the Dallas Cowboys.
If Hurts is unable to go, it would be Gardner Minshew under center for the Eagles.

The good news is that the Eagles and Hurts’ agent have confirmed the injury is not believed to be long-term. So it’s very likely that Hurts misses just a few games, if any.
At 13-1, the Eagles have the luxury of being able to bench Hurts for a couple of games without risking the top seed in the NFC. The closest team to catching them at the moment is the 11-3 Vikings, who they already beat earlier in the season to secure that tiebreaker.
The only other teams who could possibly catch the Eagles at the moment are the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers, who both sit at 10-4. Either team would have to win out while hoping that Philly goes 0-3 over the final three weeks.
In other words, the Eagles’ main concern right now should be getting Hurts back to full health for the playoffs.
