The Dallas Cowboys have made it official. They are signing a former multi-time Pro Bowl wide receiver to their roster…
It’s just not the free agent wideout we all expected.
It has just been reported that the Cowboys will be signing former Colts star receiver T.Y. Hilton to a contract, as they look to add depth ahead of their Super Bowl run.
Hilton was drafted by the Colts in the third round of the 2012 draft. He spent the next 10 seasons in Indy, making it to four Pro Bowls while leading the entire NFL in receiving yards in 2016.
Hilton played 10 games for the Colts last season, starting in nine of them. However, it was clear that he had lost a step, racking up just 23 catches for 331 yards and three touchdowns. His last 1,000-yard season came in 2018, when he put up 1,270 yards in just 14 games. His career high was 1,448 yards in 2016, which was good enough to lead the league that year.
With Hilton signing, this likely spells the end of the Cowboys’ pursuit of Odell Beckham Jr. Although, you’d have to think that Jerry Jones wasn’t liking his team’s chances after they did OBJ dirty by releasing his medical information.
