Another key quarterback to watch heading into this offseason has been moved.
This time, it’s Indianapolis Colts quarterback Carson Wentz who’s been shipped out, as Indy has shipped him off to the Washington Commanders for a package of draft picks.
According to reports, the package includes at least two third-round picks, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter:
The Colts were rumored to be done with Wentz after their 2021 season ended on a sour note, as the quarterback’s poor performance in week 18 against the Jags turned out to be the final nail in their — and his — coffin.
As for the Commanders, they now move on to yet another quarterback with hopes that he can finally be the one to lead this team to some postseason success. They did manage to upgrade at a position that was carried by the likes of Taylor Heinicke, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Kyle Allen in 2021. But is Wentz really the guy to get them back to their first Super Bowl since the 1991 season? I’m not buying it.
