Clemson cornerback Nate Wiggins suffered a minor injury after stealing the show during the NFL Combine on Friday.
Wiggins ran a 40-yard dash time of 4.29 seconds on Friday, which is a fraction smaller than the record that former wide receiver John Ross set back in 2017 (4.22 seconds):
Unfortunately, Wiggins suffered a minor injury after the jaw-dropping 4.29-second 40-yard dash time. According to Stacey Dales of NFL Network, Wiggins felt a pop and was later informed that he suffered a hip flexor.
The good news is that Wiggins told Dales he expects to be just fine for his upcoming Pro Day:
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Wiggins is regarded as one of the elite defensive prospects in this year’s draft class. Many project Wiggins to be a top-20 pick, with ESPN’s Mel Kiper placing the Clemson stalwart 16th on his big board.
