AWESOME NEWS!
Jim Kelly has been fighting cancer repeatedly for the last five years as he continues to defeat it, only for it to show up once again.
Kelly was initially diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma, a form of cancer in his upper jaw back in 2013. His treatment for the cancer included surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, but the cancer would return twice, most recently March 2018.
Fast forward to January 2019 and he is cancer free once again.
On Friday, his wife, Jill Kelly, took to Instagram and posted a photo of Jim giving the thumbs up and mentioning the Bills legend’s recover took “a bit longer than usual” due to extensive mouth reconstruction.
“We finally got back the results from Jim’s recent MRI…CLEAN!” Jill wrote. “Thank GOD! It took a bit longer than usual because of all the reconstruction Jim has had inside his mouth. They wanted to be certain that all was good. This extra waiting has been a reminder for me. A reminder to remember the WHO and not the what. The bigger picture and not the present outcome. Although God is in all of it, I needed to be reminded (yet again) that this is not the end of the story. It’s a page. A chapter. It’s part of the greater story. Hope this reminds you that THIS (whatever your ‘this’ is) is NOT the end of the story.”
