More sad news from the NFL world, and the Baltimore Ravens in particular, as one of their most popular players in franchise history has passed away.
It has just been announced that Tony Siragusa has passed away at the age of 55. The former Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle played in the NFL from 1990 to 2001, winning a Super Bowl with the Ravens during the 2000 season.
The news of his passing was confirmed by former Ravens teammate Jamal Lewis.
Siragusa may have never made a Pro Bowl, but he was still an instrumental part of all those dominant Ravens defenses from the late 90s and early 2000s.
Through 12 NFL seasons, Siragusa players in 169 games, during which he racked up 564 tackles, 22 sacks, five forced fumbles, and nine fumble recoveries.
No word yet on the cause of his passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family.
