Amari Cooper is going to get his deal.
Hours after the Dallas Cowboys placed their franchise tag on QB Dak Prescott — ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the team would be paying their star WR a massive deal.
“I love being a Dallas Cowboy,” Cooper said before his deal. “I think about it almost every day. Just the aura of being a Dallas Cowboy, you can’t beat it. I want to be a Dallas Cowboy for life.”
Cooper played out the final year of his four-year, $22.7 million contract and was set to hit the open market and possibly leave. The Cowboys made sure he did not leave town.
Cooper caught 79 passes for 1,189 yards receiving and eight touchdowns during the 2019 season.
