Ariel, the 5-year-old girl hurt in a crash involving former Chiefs outside linebacker coach Britt Reid, is no longer in a coma.
The update was posted to a GoFundMe page that’s raised more than $484,000 for her medical expenses.
“Ariel is awake.”
Ariel was critically injured when the car she was in was struck by Reid’s truck just days before Super Bowl LV.
According to a search warrant, Britt Reid, son of Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, told police he was the truck’s driver, and also admitted to having two or three drinks and taking prescribed Adderall before hitting the road.
In that same crash, a 4-year-old was also hurt, but their injuries were not life-threatening.
Britt Reid complained of stomach pain and Chiefs head coach Andy Reid later said his son had undergone surgery.
