Thursday night was clear that Brandon Staley had lost the locker room.
The Chargers cleaned house as head coach Brandon Staley and general manager Tom Telesco were fired, the team announced. Staley is the second Chargers head coach to be fired midseason.
The Chargers were 24-24 under Staley with one playoff berth in 2022 that ended with a 27-point blown lead to the Jacksonville Jaguars that happened just eleven months ago.
Following his firing, an old tweet resurfaced from 2007.
“soo hungry need to find my wife and head to pf changs.”
Not many people know that the team acquired their X account from another user many years ago so everything that person tweeted out remained in their history.

The news of Staley’s firing follows Thursday night’s debacle in which the team lost to the Raiders, 63-21, and Amazon studio analyst Richard Sherman suggested that Staley should be fired at halftime when the team was losing 42-0.
The team is 5-9 and in last place in the AFC West.
Last offseason, the Chargers signed starting quarterback Justin Herbert to a five-year contract extension worth up to $262.5 million.
Herbert underwent season-ending surgery to repair a fractured finger on his throwing hand and he is out for the year. Even when he played, the team was not playing well.
This is the second coach the Chargers have fired since drafting Herbert in 2020.
