The NFL world ripped Los Angeles Chargers’ head coach Brandon Staley over another risky play-call that backfired late in a game.
LA was leading the Las Vegas Raiders 24-17 with three and a half minutes to go in the fourth. On 4th-and-1 from his own 34-yard line, Staley called for quarterback Justin Herbert to try a quarterback sneak.
And because it’s the snake-bitten Chargers, of course they didn’t get it:
This came a week after the Chargers were stopped on 4th-and-1 deep in their own territory when leading the Minnesota Vikings by four late last week. The Chargers went on to win that game, but Staley clearly didn’t learn his lesson.
So of course social media had a field day making fun of Staley:

The Chargers narrowly held on to hold off the Raiders, but Staley’s really gotta learn to stop being overly aggressive with his play-calling one of these days.
