The Philadelphia Eagles-Buffalo Bills thrilling Week 12 showdown at Lincoln Financial Field required overtime. After the Bills won the coin toss, wide receiver Gabe Davis said his team wanted the ball.
Eagles veteran and fan favorite Brandon Graham boldly told Davis, “It don’t matter.” Graham and the Eagles D backed it up, alright.
The Eagles held Buffalo to a field goal on the opening possession of overtime, and Jalen Hurts took care of the rest from there. Hurts put the game away with a game-winning 12-yard rushing score, thus making good on Graham’s promise:
Hasselbeck, of course, failed to do back up his overtime-coin-toss-guarantee in the Seattle Seahawks’ 2003 Wild Card Round loss to the Green Bay Packers.
