Brandin Cooks is feeling “blessed” this Sunday, after the star wide receiver finally had his trade request granted by the Houston Texans.
Cooks was sent to the Dallas Cowboys this morning for fifth- and sixth-round picks. He’ll now have the opportunity to compete for a Super Bowl while playing in an offense alongside Dak Prescott, Ceedee Lamb and Tony Pollard.
It’s a great opportunity for Cooks, who will be joining his fifth team since getting selected in the first-round by the New Orleans Saints in 2014.
When asked about the trade, Cooks didn’t hold back his excitement. He was quick to thank Jerry Jones and the Jones family, while letting them know that he’s looking forward to “joining something special.”
“Man, honestly, I just feel blessed for this opportunity to contribute to something that’s already special. For the Jones family to believe in me, I look forward to joining something special and I bring that mindset everywhere I go.”

Cooks is coming off one of the worst seasons of his career, hauling in just 57 receptions for 699 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games. His 53.8 yards per game were a career low.
Much of his struggles can be attributed to the terrible quarterback situation in Houston during the 2022 season. With Dak throwing him the ball now, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the 29-year-old bounce back in a big way in 2023.
