The stalemate between the San Francisco 49ers and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk officially ended after the two sides agreed to a 4-year, $120 million contract extension.
The deal includes a $76 million guarantee, as Aiyuk will receive $47 million between August 29, 2024, and April 1, 2025, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport.
It was a glorious moment for Brandon Aiyuk, who got caught up in controversy after controversy this offseason, to finally get to this moment.
After the deal was announced, the now excited wide receiver had his reaction caught on camera after his agent informed him on Facetime of his new deal.
Both of them were all smiles.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter would further report that “Aiyuk accepted the same deal that has been on the table since August. 10, per league sources.”

The NFL insider further added: “His hold-in did not alter any part of his new four-year, $120 million extension. He took the same deal that had been there for the past three weeks. Hold-in over.”
It appears that the San Francisco 49ers dug their heels in and decided not to add more money or guarantees to Brandon Aiyuk’s deal.
Once that was clear and a trade to another team with a better deal wasn’t happening, Aiyuk decided to stay put, which was best for both sides.
Now, the 49ers can try and get back to the Super Bowl and win it all while trying to end that dreaded losing streak in the big game.

But after all the trade speculation and drama, Aiyuk is staying put after agreeing to a four-year, $120 million extension one week before the start of the season.
The team’s first-round pick in 2020 is important as he is coming off a season in which he had 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns, per ESPN.
