Social media has a way of seeing something fun and turning it into something completely negative.
49ers wives and girlfriends have been the subject of many rude comments in the wake of the team defeating the Detroit Lions and punching their ticket to the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.
The Shade Room shared a video showing several significant others of the team showing their excitement on the field as the team got ready to head to the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, many in the comments spoke negatively of their physical appearances as some were called “mid” or “basic” as opposed to what fans are used to seeing.
“I might have a chance they look basic af”
“Not one a wife…”
“Why does everything a beautiful black woman do is being called basic by her own kind??? So sad..”
San Francisco wideout Brandon Aiyuk’s girlfriend, Rochelle Searight, saw the discourse about it and immediately took to her TikTok and fired back with a message:

“I just got to say I think y’all brains are a little messed up,” she said. “I’m talking to the people that are like so rude about NFL players dating ‘regular women’ because nothing about us is regular, I’ll tell you that right now. None of y’all probably seen us in person but there ain’t nothing about us regular.
“Before the era of TikTok, you were only seeing the NFL-celebrity duos that were getting thrown into the media because they were the only good-looking couples. And then you would only see those couples. I’m still a little bit baffled because me and my man, we’ve been looking good together. Don’t make me pop out with some pictures. But all I know is the media has y’all fooled.
“Y’all have been fooled. A majority of NFL players do not date only actresses and models.”
The 26-year-old Searight is in cosmetology school and also has a strong 267,600 followers on TikTok, 17,100 on Instagram, and 34,200 on YouTube. After this recent video, she is sure to garner even more of a fan base.
Aiyuk finished the regular season with 1,342 receiving yards, a career-high for the former Arizona State star, and seven touchdowns. He was named a second-team All-Pro.
Aiyuk also ended the year third in yards per route run (3.01) and of his 75 catches in the regular season, only seven did not result in a first down or a touchdown, 61 of them going for a first down on plays where he did not score.
