Donald Trump has a lot of things to do before before he officially leaves office, and one of them appears to have Bill Belichick as part of his to-do list.
Trump is planning to award Belichick the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Thursday, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss. The Presidential Medal of Freedom was established by John F. Kennedy in 1963 and is given to individuals to recognize them for “an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.”
Highly touted Boston sports columnist Bob Ryan could not believe his ears when he heard the news. So much so, that he took to Twitter and stated that the Patriots head coach would dead to him if he accepted it from Trump.
“If this story about Bill Belichick accepting a Medal of Freedom from the disgraced occupant of the White House is true, he’s dead to me. Say it ain’t so, Bill. I sincerely hope this is Fake News.”

Trump has bragged about his relationship with Belichick on more than one occasion, with him reading a letter that Belichick wrote to him at a rally in New Hampshire back in 2016.
