Well, this is interesting.
Via the @BackAftaThis Twitter account, Boomer Esiason shared on Friday on his WFAN radio show a text from a source who claims that Aaron Rodgers will threaten to boycott the Super Bowl if the team advances that far. He would do this if the NFL doesn’t eliminate some of the COVID protocols.
“Boom! The Rodgers saga continues to get crazier and crazier. I’ve been told by multiple people in Aaron’s direct circle that if the Packers make the Super Bowl, he will use the week leading up to the Super Bowl to prove a major point. He will threaten the NFL by saying he won’t play in the big game or next season if they don’t eliminate some of the COVID-related rules. One big one that upsets him the most is the testing of non-symptomatic players.
He’s told Jordan Love to be ready. Like you said, he’s got to make it first, but Super Bowl week will be set on fire and send (Roger) Goodell in a frenzy navigating the situation.”
In the clip, Giannotti followed up by asking, “Is it someone that we should be trusting with their information?” Esiason’s answer? “I would, yes.”
As you know, Rodgers tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this season, after which it was learned he misled the public on his vaccination status. He would miss the game against the Chiefs, but the team has since clinched the No. 1 seed in the NFC and the road to Super Bowl LVI will go through Lambeau Field.

Rodgers has been so good on the field again that he is the leading candidate for NFL MVP, an award he’s already won three times.
None of this will matter unless the Packers make the Super Bowl, something they haven’t done since they defeated the Steelers in 2011.
