It was announced earlier in the week that Boomer Esiason would be taking over for Tony Romo due to COVID protocols, and Boomer made sure to piss people off during the game.
Chris Streveler took over from Kyler Murray early in Sunday’s game between the Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Rams, but made a huge mistake when he threw a pick-six in the final minute of the second quarter to Troy Hill.
Boomer was so unimpressed with the play that he decided to slander the CFL.
“What a horrific mistake by ‘Reveler,’” said CBS announcer Boomer Esiason, who mispronounced Streveler’s name. “He throws it in between three Ram defenders as he is getting hit in the pocket. This isn’t the Grey Cup. This isn’t the CFL. You can’t just take chances and throw the ball down the middle of the field and expect somebody not to come down with it. There’s just no reason to throw the ball there.”
Social media made sure to return that slander right back to him:
