Saturday’s AFC Wild Card Playoff game between the Bills and Texans started off as a complete mismatch as Buffalo held a 16-0 lead before the Texans decided to get on the board.
After making a huge comeback that got them a 3-point lead, the Bills found themselves trailing by three with just 15 seconds left in the fourth quarter and needing a field goal to tie things up and push the game to OT>
Facing a 3rd-and-10 with no timeouts remaining, ESPN’s Booger McFarland suggested Buffalo should “get a few yards” on third down and then “spike it” on fourth.
Spiking it on a 4th down would turn the ball over on downs and end the game.
“I’ll tell ya what, if I’m Sean McDermott at this point, you almost just run a quick draw play, get a few yards, spike it.”
Luckily, the Bills didn’t listen to Booger and hit the field goal to force OT.
