If you thought the Chicago Bears season was going south, this might be what makes things boil over. Earlier this week, it was reported that Chicago veterans wanted the team to bench rookie Caleb Williams.
However, that was quickly shrugged off as multiple players came to Williams’ defense, but a new rumor might point exactly where that rumor started.
Recently, a user on Reddit came forward and speculated that backup quarter Tyson Bagent’s father, Travis, has been leaking false reports to the media.

There was solid evidence behind it, stating that an ESPN radio host said that Travis had “interesting things to say” about the Bears situation and tweeted the rumor about Williams the following day.
The post also said, “The radio guys don’t hide their relationship with Bagent’s dad. This isn’t a new thing. it’s unfortunate that they report it despite it being proven BS every time.

However, the post later acknowledged that there was no hard evidence to support the claim and that it was mostly speculation and “circumstantial.”
If true, you must imagine that the Bears could be looking for a new backup to Williams, who doesn’t come with all the extra drama.
Caleb Williams Has Had A Rough Stretch Of Games
Early in the season, Williams helped Chicago to an impressive 4-2 record, which made them look like serious NFC contenders.
However, they have dropped three straight games after their bye week, and Williams has not performed that well.
In these three games, he has completed 48 of 95 passes for 468 yards, zero touchdowns, and zero interceptions.
Williams at least kept the offense afloat by keeping the ball safe, but needs to start producing more of those amazing plays he became known for in college.
