The Buffalo Bills have made a roster move that will definitely not be considered a favor to their quarterback, Josh Allen.
Buffalo, among the favorites to win the Super Bowl this year and the outright favorites for most of the campaign, have kept on making changes as they prepare for the divisional-round showdown against the Cincinnati Bengals.
On Tuesday, the team announced cutting wide receiver Taner Gentry from the practice squad and replacing him with Dezmon Patson. They’ve also brought in defensive tackle Cortez Brown while releasing linebacker Joe Giles-Harris.
Gentry and Allen have been best buds since their time together in Wyoming. The former was called up to the active roster on two occasions this season but didn’t see action after the Bills brought veterans Cole Beasley and John Brown back.
Getting released this close to a potential Super Bowl run must be tough for Gentry, and Allen is unlikely to be pleased about the move. However, it’s possible the WR returns as he was released and resigned twice last year. He has the fact that he’s considered to be a provider of moral support to Allen working in his favor too.

If not, the QB still has Mitch Morse, who even made his wife jealous when he stood up for Allen on the weekend.
