Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass has taken some evasive action on social media following a costly miss against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
The Bills are out of the playoffs after another heartbreaking loss in the divisional round, and Bass has been getting most of the blame as he missed a potential game-tying field goal from 44 yards out after the two-minute.
“I’ve got to do a better job of playing it a little bit more left when you have a left-to-right [wind]. I’ve been here long enough to know that you have to do that,” he said after the loss, per ESPN’s Alaina Getzenberg. “You know, I was trusting my line that I had in warmups. Hit a good ball, but it didn’t work out. I feel terrible, you know?
“I love this team and it hurts. This one hurts bad. Yeah, I’ve got to do a better job. Totally on me.”
The kicker appears to have deleted his social media accounts as both his X and Instagram pages are not available.
Even if Bass had made the field goal, the Bills would still have to hand Patrick Mahomes the ball back with 1:43 left on the clock. That would have presented the Chiefs quarterback with more than enough time to put a scoring drive together. Still, the miss erased any chance of a Bills win and they’re off to the drawing board again for another year.
