Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass discussed his costly miss against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night.
It appeared the two teams were headed to overtime nearing the end of their Divisional Round thriller when Bass was called upon for a field goal that would have tied scores up at 27 apiece with less than two minutes to go.
Stepping up from 44 yards, Bass sent the ball sailing wide right, allowing the Chiefs to run the clock out and win 27-24.
Reporters caught up with him in the locker room after the heartbreaking result.
“I gotta do a better job, totally on me,” he said, adding he got “nothing but love” from his teammates following the miss.
“It’s completely on me,” he also told the Bills’ official website. “I’ve got to do a better job of getting through to my target. I’ve got to do a better job of playing it a little bit more left when you have a left to right [wind]. I’ve been here long enough to know that you have to do that.”

Quarterback Josh Allen did not agree with Bass’ assessment, pointing out that he should have never been in such a position in the first place.
