Buffalo Bills veteran defensive tackle Jordan Phillips responded to comments from Philadelphia Eagles star center Jason Kelce, who accused the 31-year-old of being a dirty player.
Kelce wasn’t happy with a play made by Phillips in the Eagles’ Week 12 home game against Buffalo at Lincoln Financial Field. Kelce accused Phillips of trying to injure teammate and guard Cam Jurgens, calling it “bull (expletive) while adding that Phillips should receive a fine.
Per Thad Brown of WROC-TV, Phillips fired back at Kelce’s comments and accused the future Hall of Famer of diving a knees during the Eagles’ renowned “tush push” play. Phillips took another swipe at Kelce, staying he has a voice now because of the podcast he co-hosts with brother Travis Kelce:
“When you look at the Tush Push he dives at somebody’s knees every play and tries to roll them up. For him to speak on somebody being dirty, I don’t think he has any right or any means to call for a fine when he does a whole bunch of stuff. I think it’s crazy for him to even mention that.
I’m 335lbs how am I going to stop regardless? How do I know that the ball wasn’t going? After I saw the ball move I put my eyes on him and I’m going to go…
“He is a well-respected guy around the league for whatever reason. Now he suddenly has a voice because he’s on his brother’s podcast and he thinks he can use it. But the way he’s using his voice doesn’t make any sense.”
Phillips and Kelce won’t see each other again this season unless the Bills and Eagles meet in Super Bowl 58. But with Buffalo on the outside looking in at 6-6, that obviously feels like a longshot at this point.

The veteran defensive linemen is eligible to enter free agency in 2024, though, and Kelce has hinted at retiring in the not-so-distant future. So don’t get your hopes up too high that the two will cross paths again at the NFL level, as entertaining as it would be.
Philadelphia went on to defeat Buffalo in overtime in Week 12, only to lose to the San Francisco 49ers a week later. The Bills, coming out of their bye week, will try to get back above .500 when they visit the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
