The Buffalo Bills traded up to select Kaiir Elam with the No. 23 overall pick during the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Could they be angling to do something similar this year?
With the NFL Draft less than three weeks away, ESPN’s Matt Miller reported that the top AFC contender is interested in trading up.
At the moment, they own the 27th overall pick. However, the team could find a way to move a little closer to the top. If they do find a way, Miller believes the Bills could be targeting an interior offensive lineman or offensive skill player.
From ESPN:
“The Buffalo Bills are another AFC title contender with eyes on moving up, based on what I’ve heard from sources around the league. The Bills will play the board and see who is falling, but with the No. 27 selection, it’s very possible general manager Brandon Beane gets anxious and moves up for an interior offensive lineman or offensive skill player. That said, Buffalo has six total selections in this draft, so trading up very far wouldn’t be possible without mortgaging future draft classes.”
Adding another offensive weapon would take some of the pressure off Josh Allen’s shoulders as he would have another weapon to work with. However, adding an offensive lineman could help Allen stay on his feet. He was sacked 33 times in 2022 and 26 times during the 2021 season. Combine that with the fact that he often runs out of the pocket a ton, he is taking too many hits to his body.
Adding a guy like Texas running back Bijan Robinson could drastically help Allen and the Bills offense in the regular season and even more when they get to the playoffs as they seem to run out of gas when the lights get bright.

Considering all they went through before and during the 2022 season, the Buffalo Bills were supposed to be the team of destiny, as anything short of a Super Bowl win would’ve resulted in complete disappointment.
Instead, Buffalo’s season ended after a 27-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Divisional.
