NFL fans understandably voiced speculation over the Chicago Bears possibly landing a top defensive tackle via trade amid the offseason after Buffalo Bills star Ed Oliver took to Instagram to share some cryptic posts.
The 25-year-old, who was the No. 9 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, appeared to tease a move to the NFC North when he posted photos and videos of himself sacking all but one of the division’s starting quarterbacks to his IG Story.
His posts included a photo of a sack on Jared Goff, one on Aaron Rodgers and a clip of an overtime sack on Kirk Cousins captioned “Enjoyed myself.”
Justin Fields was noticeably absent from the sack parade but he was eventually added after Bears fans began to express their feelings over the fact that Fields was left out.
Such a trade would actually be great for the Bears. Oliver is a young DT who could thrive in head coach Matt Eberflus’ 4-3 system. The position is also a key one for Chicago as it would make a huge difference where their defending is concerned, should they make a major addition.
It’s just one of many moves the Bears have been rumored to be considering.

Oliver is also going to be playing on a fifth-year option next season set to cost a pretty reasonable sum of just over $10 million.
