Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs remains a top name to follow in the NFL trade rumor mill as the new league year inches closer.
Many have called for the Bills to move on from Diggs ever since they were eliminated in the AFC Divisional Round for the third straight year. And with Buffalo up against the cap, their best bet may be to trade Diggs and retool the offense around Josh Allen.
GM Brandon Beane has already cut standouts Mitch Morse, Tre’Davious Whtie and Jordan Poyer in cap-saving moves, after all. And trading Diggs post-June 1st would save Buffalo an additional $19 million in cap space.
Looking at potential landing spots, the Los Angeles Chargers feel like the ideal landing spot for Diggs. Their top two wideouts, Keenan Allen (32 in April) and Mike Williams (30 in October), are potential cap casualties with massive contracts and long concerning injury histories.

Having hired a big-named head coach in Jim Harbaugh, the Bolts shouldn’t hesitate to retool the roster around star quarterback Justin Herbert. They should cut one of Allen or Williams and pursue a Diggs trade to shake up the offense.

The Chargers should offer up their 2024 third-round pick (69th overall) and a 2025 fifth-rounder to Buffalo for Diggs. Herbert would have a borderline top-10 receiver to help take this offense to a new level, while the Bills would clear much-needed cap space by trading their pricy veteran.
Buffalo can use some of their cap space to sign a top free agent wideout like Marquise Brown, Calvin Ridley, Tyler Boyd or Darnell Mooney. And with the No. 28 pick in this year’s draft, they can take one of the many stud WR prospects like LSU’s Brian Thomas Jr. or Texas’ Xavier Worthy.
