Davante Adams, about to enter his second season with the Las Vegas Raiders, made headlines earlier this week when he admitted that there are disagreements with head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler about what’s “best for” the club.
Naturally, Adams’ name has since started to pop up in trade rumors. There’s no indicator that Vegas is actually looking to trade the veteran Pro Bowler, who signed a five-year extension worth $140 million a year ago. But if Adams ends up hitting the trade block, there certainly won’t be a shortage of teams interested in his services.
Bleacher Report’s Gary Davenport mentioned the Buffalo Bills as one of the potential suitors for Adams if the Raiders look to trade the future Hall of Famer:
“Adams is a game-changing talent—last year his 1,516 receiving yards were third in the NFL. But the reality is calling the Raiders a playoff contender is a stretch. Calling them a Super Bowl contender is laughable.
And assuming that Adams knows that too, the relationship between player and team may only just be beginning to deteriorate.”
Last year, the Raiders acquired Adams from the Green Bay Packers in exchange for their 2022 first and second-round picks. Adams turned in an excellent first season for the Raiders, racking up 100 receptions for 1,516 yards (the second-best mark of his career) and 14 touchdowns.
Throw in Josh Jacobs’ league-leading 1,653 rushing yards, and the Raiders absolutely should have been a playoff contender last season.

But inconsistent play from Derek Carr (released ahead of free agency) and another porous showing from the defense contributed to a disappointing 6-11 season in Sin City. The Raiders signed ex-San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in free agency to replace Carr.
