Damar Hamlin’s heart stopped twice following the nasty collision from Monday night that no one can forget.
That is according to the player’s uncle, who provided an update on his condition in an interview with CNN on Tuesday night and discussed the horrifying ordeal of watching everything happen in real time.
Hamlin is believed to have suffered a blow that caused his heart to stop during the Monday Night Football fixture between the Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills. The young safety was administered CPR on the field, which took around nine minutes to get his heart working again.
Damar’s Uncle Says He Died Twice
His uncle has since claimed that Damar’s heart stopped a second time and he had to be resuscitated again when he got to the hospital, delivering an even grimmer outline of the situation as the former Pittsburgh star continues to fight for his life.

“I just want to show my gratitude for the medical staff that were on hand because, if not for them, my nephew probably wouldn’t even be here,” he said.

Hamlin’s uncle also revealed that the player remains sedated as doctors feel his body stands a better chance of recovery in such a state.
