Will Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers continue to play and for which team? Many teams have been floated since the end of the team’s season, but we are getting a new one this time around that would put the NFL into a whirlwind if it were to happen.
Following the Cowboys’ disappointing playoff loss to the 49ers, The Ringer’s Bill Simmons discussed that Aaron Rodgers could make his way to Dallas.
“Is Dak for Rodgers crazy?” Simmons explained during his recent “Bill Simmons Podcast.” “Would you trade for Aaron Rodgers? … You wouldn’t want three years of Rodgers?”
Aaron Rodgers made many complaints about a lack of talent on offense for the Packers this past season. He would absolutely love what the Cowboys have going on and to do it in a warm weather city with a roof would be even better.
The 39-year-old signed a monster new contract last offseason that would take him to age 43.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter declared the Packers would indeed consider a trade if another team can afford Rodgers’ substantial salary.
“Make no mistake: Both sides are fully aware that a trade is a very real scenario this offseason for Aaron Rodgers,” Schefter said. “The Packers are expected to move on from certain players, which Aaron Rodgers probably will not like.
“The issue here will be the $110 million left on his contract, and which team could afford it. But there is a real possibility that at some point this offseason, Aaron Rodgers is going to be traded.”

Unfortunately for Jerry Jones and the Cowboys, the front office has already made it clear that they will only trade him to a team in the NFC. Placing Rodgers on the Cowboys would hurt the Packers should they make a run for the playoffs and potentially have to face their old QB.
On top of that, Dak Prescott also possesses a no-trade clause in his deal. He may not want to take his talents to Green Bay. Basically, there is zero chance this deal would happen.
