Bill Parcells has reached the pinnacle of professional football twice, coaching the New York Giants to a pair of Super Bowl championships.
His coaching excellence led him to another sport. Parcells, a Hall of Fame head coach, has gotten very into horse racing, owning some major thoroughbreds.
Unfortunately, he got some terrible news this week regarding one of his horses.
His horse, Maple Leaf Mel, sustained a catastrophic injury to her leg just before the finish line at Saratoga. Because of that injury, she had to be later euthanized.
